Summer Institute (SI)

Orientation

Hello Hong Kong (for non-local students only)

Tailored for international participants, the two-day “Hello Hong Kong” session will let them settle down in their student hostel and learn how they could make the most out of their stay in Hong Kong with their new friends. During the two-week programme, there will be many opportunities for them to experience local cultures and explore Hong Kong through different activities, visits and interaction with the local students in and out of the classroom.

Orientation Camp (for all students)

During the three-day-two-night orientation camp, all SI participants will take part in a series of team-building activities to experience the vibrant university life of CUHK. Led by a group of friendly and enthusiastic CUHK students, students will also gain insights into adapting to the university learning environment. To many previous SI participants, the fondest memories and lasting friendships originated from the orientation camp.

Closing Ceremony (for all students)

At the end of the programme, a closing ceremony will be held to conclude the two-week learning experience. During the ceremony, certificates of achievement will be distributed to the students who have successfully completed the programme. Besides, teachers will be invited to join the closing ceremony, providing an opportunity to celebrate the students’ accomplishments together.
